I have been toying with the idea of buying a Coach bag or wristlet (the one with the Legacy stripes). I wanted to reward myself for working hard for the past few months, but yet could not bear the splurge. I have lost quite a bit in shares and felt that I should not spend so much.
Anyway, with such a dear bag, I would not bear to carry it but would eventually keep it in the cupboard or if I were to dirty it, how my heart will break.
Sigh, I do have strange mentality and after weighing the pros and cons, I remain satisfied just viewing at the bag in the Coach store...

Project End and Start
I have just completed a project in August and now starting on another. Felt feelings of loss after the project, as frankly I have been so hectic for the past few months, that now, I have more spare time, yet felt a sense of loss and not being of "use" at the moment.
This is sad, and probably because there is only me and SL, so there is not much to occupy my mind, except my mother's health and her well-being.. And yet, I often dream of early retirement and being a housewife. SL often says that I cannot stay at home, else I would be so irritable and would find things to quarrel with him. This is probably true.
With no kids (not by choice now), I sometimes wonder what my future holds. Que sera sera whatever will be will be, the future’s not ours to see. The thought of working till sixty-two and beyond to keep myself alive sounds scary but is realistic.
As age and fats pile on and time slipping through like sands off our fingers, I guess, the only way to move forward is to live optimistically and make the best of everything there is.

Hairspray
Watched Hairspray on Fri. It is a feel-good movie with happy endings and good education values - to chase after one's dreams and that not all thin and blonde people end up with the good guys. :>
Joh Travolta rocks in the show, kind of reminds me of his role in Grease. I cannot help it but seem to make comparisons between Grease & Hairspray throughout the show. Michelle Pfeiffer reminds me of Olivia Newton John - hairstyle and all, but with opposing personalities.
Songs and dances were very enjoyable. No wonder the sound track were all in huge demand.
Not environmentally though, with the promotions of using hairspray, perhaps, that is why the environment is in a mess now, since hairspray was so widely used then.

The Alchemist
Just finished reading the book The Alchemist By Paulo Coelho.
The book revolves around a boy's journey to find his dreams and live his Personal Legend.
There were short analogies of different people he met along the way and their thoughts towards this.
He met a crystal merchant whose dream was to go on a pilgrimage to Mecca but did not, as he felt that after he had completed it, he would have nothing left to work towards or look forward to. In comparison, another Englishman the boy met, had a dream to meet the Alchemist and to learn alchemy. The Englishman tells him that the goal of alchemists is to purify metal by heating it for many years until all its individual properties are burned. The Englishman wasted several years before he decided to embark towards his dream.
This book teaches about fear of stepping out of our comfort zone, towards our dreams and seeking for our own destiny. It also addresses our many fatelistic thinking about life and to leave everything to fate. It also brings to our attention to be on the lookout for omens or signs to bring us to our destiny. "To realize one's destiny is a person's obligation, and when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it."
